Hello Folks,
Happy International Yoga Day, even though for many of you every day is Yoga day :)
The global recognition of the healing powers of Yoga and the embrace of its practice in so many sectors of society is amazing to see.
A few things coming up below!
1. I'm involved in several Yoga Day events this year, but probably the most exciting is with the United Nations in NYC, at the invitation of the Indian Embassy. We decided to do an asana demonstration on Zoom with friends from around the world who have been tuning in for the classes over the past year. The event will start at 8:30am EST on
June 21st, and you can watch it through this link:
There will be remarks from the President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Volkan Bozkir, as well as a panel with Padmashri Nouf Al Marwaai and Dr. Krishna Raman, moderated by Sam Rudra Swartz.
2. An amazing event to tune into is the month-long Global event run by Indica Yoga:

They have morning and evening sessions of practice, philosophy, and discussions, including all aspects of Yoga. I attended many of the talks (all on YouTube) last year, and they were awesome. This year I'll teach on Friday morning, June 25th. Please do check out their platform - they have a huge amount of articles on Yoga and Hindu philosophies.
3. The last event of the week will be Yoga Aid on Saturday and Sunday, June 26th and 27th. This is a fundraiser for India that I have been co-organizing under the leadership of Yoga teacher Monisha Raja. It is also an event to highlight the teachings of South Asian teachers. You can find out more information through this link:
Speakers include Dr. Deepak Chopra, Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, journalist and activist Dr. Alok Patel, yoga teacher and author Susanna Barkataki, professional philosopher Dr. Shyam Ranganathan, actress/activist AnnaLynne McCord, Kirtan singer Nina Rao, yoga
teacher Mihir Joglekar and many more.
The weekend will include asana practice, meditation, chanting, yoga philosophy, discussions on yoga to support Covid recovery, panels, and much more. We’ve assembled an incredible line-up from around the world and are excited to share an abundance of knowledge and wisdom while honoring the birthplace and culture that Yoga is born from, all while raising funds for the
continued relief efforts in India.
The donations and ticket sales will go directly to support rural areas with high poverty rates and a lack of infrastructure. Yoga Aid proceeds will be donated to CWS and Invisible Girl
Project through the generosity of CITTA.org
Thank you, and happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! (And to my Dad, too :)
With love,
Eddie
PS The moon day is Thursday, and all of the events of the week will not change our regular, daily schedule.
