Hello Folks,
I hope all is well with you. I have two schedule updates for the next week:
1. Thursday, October 1st, is the full moon day, so there will be no class, and instead I'll add extra classes on Friday morning:
The next moon days are Friday, October 16th, and Saturday, October 31st.
2. There will be no classes on Monday, October 5th. I have to complete the filming for the Yoga365 app, and because of COVID, coordination has been tricky, and this is one of the only possible days for our
team.
Other news...
This Saturday, October 3rd, we will be launching our new platform called Inner Peace Network with a book event with Deepak Chopra, for his new book Total Meditation.
The purpose of the Inner Peace Network is to create a live platform where we can connect with and learn from teachers from the great wisdom traditions of the world. Many of these teachers have taught at the Inner Peace Conference, and there will be many other teachers presenting as well. This will be a diverse platform presenting the myriad of wisdom views,
including Native American, Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi, and a variety of scientific and philosophical traditions, East and West, and music.
One of our teachers is the Vedic Chanting teacher Shantala Sriramaiah, from Bangalore. Shantala's mother was a chanting teacher, and she has studied extensively with the masters of Vedic chanting the Challekere Brothers. You can see an example of her teaching about healing and mantras here at this lecture for the
Indica Yoga Global Festival of Yoga. While this lecture is largely theoretical, her classes on IPN will be practical (you'll learn Vedic chanting) along with theory. The teachings she gives on the Vedas comes from a life of growing up in an environment where chanting and ritual measure the parts of the day, weeks, months, and years. It is a ritualizing of each moment of the day through sound.
Our intention behind the Inner Peace Network is to participate in supporting traditional cultures and wisdom traditions with a platform largely with teachers from those cultures. Classes will go live in late October, but our official launch is October 3rd, and I hope you can join us.
Yoga Sutra Class
I hope to restart the Yoga Sutra classes later in October. My friend Kate has developed a new streaming platform called TheKore.Live. I am hoping to use this platform for streaming these classes, so once that is ready to go, I'll start the classes. It has an easy recording mechanism and will make it so I don't need Zoom, Vimeo, and a website to teach one class!
I apologize for the schedule changes, and look forward to seeing you in class.
With love,
Eddie
