Hello Folks!
I hope this email finds you all well. My short break from the morning online teaching will officially end on Sunday, and I'll resume our weekly schedule of classes.
The past two weeks have been pretty full. I made a list before the start of my break of things that I wanted to catch up on, and I accomplished absolutely nothing on my list. But I did get some other stuff done, and some of that is below... (followed by the new, weekly schedule at the bottom of the email, so you can scroll right there if there's too much reading
here).
1. Every Friday at 11:30 EST I am leading a live pranayama class on YouTube called The Conscious Breath. I've done four episodes so far, and you can catch up with them if you like through this link
here, and catch the livestream class here. I'll be doing a total of 108 lessons on pranayama, in a 20-week program.
2. My new app officially went on pre-order on iTunes and Google Play, called Yoga365. This app is based on the emerging science of micro-practices, which are basically practices that can be done in under one to two minutes that you seed into your day to help build consistent habits of health and
awareness. Beginning on January 1st (or whatever day after the 1st that you sign-up) you will be sent a one to two minute video, six days a week. Four of those days will be simple posture or movement practices, one day a breathing practice, and one day a meditation. On the seventh day the week's worth of practices are strung together in a six to eight minute practice. It's perfect for that person in your life who says they want to learn to do yoga or meditate but don't have the time, energy
or motivation for classes that are even 20 minutes long, not to mention an hour, or an hour and a half. As with The Breathing App, the goal here is to use technology to help you begin doing practices that help put you back in the driver's seat of your life, without encouraging you to become addicted to the technology itself. I won't be overloading you with a gazillion practices, or give you a million different choices of things to do. It's a simple, direct, accessible, and easy to
use program based on straightforward practices. Please pre-order it here! This app has been created in partnership with Martine Dubin and her incredible team at Healthwire.fm
3. The Inner Peace Conference is re-emerging as Inner Peace Network. We will be announcing the launch of our new platform of Wisdom teachings in October, and our launch event will be a special afternoon with Deepak Chopra, speaking about his new book, Total Meditation,
Practices in Living the Awakened Life, on Saturday, October 3rd. The event includes a copy of Deepak's new book, a talk and meditation led by Deepak, and a 30-minute conversation with me and Deepak about meditation. You can register for that event here.
4. Deepak and I also started recording a new lecture series called Yoga for Enlightenment, which will be released on YouTube in October. I'll send out info on that when it's ready.
5. Robert Moses and I will be holding our second puja workshop weekend October 23rd and 24th. Information and registration will be on the Namarupa website shortly.... but save the date if you are interested in learning how to perform simple at-home pujas on your own. Robert is also leading absolutely
awesome pranayama and Vedanta classes which you can check out here.
7. My old friends Kaustubha Das and Raghunath Cappo invited me on their podcast, Wisdom of the Sages. You can listen (and watch) here if you like.
There are a few other odds and ends of stuff but that's enough for now... anything else of interest will be listed on our website. In the meantime, classes start up on Sunday, and the schedule for the next week looks like this (and for the month of October as well, with In Conversation IG's on Mondays):
For those using Instagram, this past week I was In Conversation with Abdi Assadi and Dr. Gail Parker, and those can be watched on IGTV.
That's all for now! I hope to see you in class next week!
With love,
Eddie
