I hope this email finds you all well. Last week I mistakenly sent an email that was meant for the Yoga Sutras* class to this entire mailing list, so I apologize if you received an email that seemed entirely out of context.Â
Â
However, it did lead to some positive responses and requests for a general questions and answers email, which I am very happy to do. So, if there is something you'd like to ask about Yoga, your practice, or Yoga related, please respond to this email with your (one) question and I'll send an email next week with answers (or at least, the illusion of answers). If it goes well we can do it once per month.
I don't like to clog your inbox with too many emails.Â

In other news: we've had two Sunday's of moon days and July 4th holiday so we've missed seeing everyone for the Sunday led classes. However, tomorrow we are back in action! You can register for either class by clicking directly on your choice: Primary (yoga chikitsa)
at 8am, or Intermediate (nadi shodana) at 10am.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this coming week is the Yoga Sadhana Intensive. These are the only classes I will be teaching (with Robert Moses) from July 13th until July 18th. Each day will include meditation, chanting, pranayama, asanas and lectures. You do not have to attend every class in order to participate, so if work or life in general prevents you from taking every
class it's still fine to sign up. It's a sliding scale donation model. You can see the schedule and sign up here.Â

Recently Jocelyne was asked a question about maintaining a yoga practice as a mother, and the changes that occur with aging, and I wanted to share her answer with you:

"We live in a Western culture that is goal and achievement oriented. With our yoga practice we need to step out of that conditioning and respect yoga for what it has to offer rather than aiming to control it and get what we want or what we expect from it. Quite often what yoga has to give us is different than what we expected.Â
Â
It is helpful to keep a curious mind and remember why it is that we practice in the first place. If we have faith in our practice we can build up a space of safety and ease toward ourselves, even as we go through aging, motherhood, and all of life. Life is going to change, so we have to learn to untie the knots of our attachments with care and learn to continue to rediscover life with all of its transformative
changes. If we can be free from wanting our practice to be different than it is as our bodies and lives change, then we can continue to find joy and contentment in it. Otherwise, it can become frustrating!"
