The Ashtanga Yoga world lost another pillar of it's community on Sunday evening. Rolf Naujakot, also known as Narayana Puri, passed away after a six-month illness with cancer. Rolf lived almost all of his adult life in India. His early years were spent living with his Guru in a cave in North India, and in 1990 Rolf found his way to Mysore where he began learning Ashtanga Yoga. Rolf had already been teaching Yoga
in Goa for many years, and after he started teaching Ashtanga Yoga he became a destination for those on their way to Mysore, and later on, a destination all on it's own. He and his wife, Marci, provided teachings, community, and solace for thousands of yoga students over the past years, and he will be deeply missed by the many people (and dogs) whose lives he influenced and changed.
