Hello Folks!
- Classes in the temple resume on Tuesday, September 3rd. Our annual Ganesha festival begins Tuesday evening, and continues through until Saturday. Please come by one evening — or especially Saturday between 12 pm and 2 pm, if
you can, when we do the Ganesha parade — and help re-energize the temple and Ganesha for the coming year!
2. Because of the festivities I will only be teaching one class this week, the Sun Salutations
class on Wednesday at 7am. If you haven't tried it yet, this is a really fun and active class. We practice about 10 different types of Sun Salutes, followed by inverted asanas and slow breathing practices. It is a dynamic class, but will leave you feeling quiet and centered after the concluding postures. Otherwise, we have our regular, full schedule.
3. Lastly, one of my Sanskrit teachers, Dr. Sampadananda Mishra, will be in NY next week teaching a course on a rare text called the Yoga Kalpadruma. This is an 19th century Hatha Yoga text that encapsulates teachings from Upanishads, Patanjali, and Hatha Yoga, and thus is an incredibly comprehensive text. You can register here.
