Hello Folks!
The weekend schedule for April...
Saturday 8 am Primaryish This is a 70-minute class with asanas from the Primary series, and the opening and closing postures from Yoga Sangraha. This is an energizing class that leaves out some of the more complicated
postures of the Primary series but remains a well-rounded, body-breath-mind practice to start your day.
Sunday 8:30 am Sunday Sadhana includes Pranayama, Primary and Intermediate asanas, and deep relaxation. The class is an hour and 45 minutes long and includes a changing selection of postures from the first two series of Ashtanga Yoga to move your body and mind in new ways.
Sunday 10:30 am Yoga Sangraha suitable and oriented towards beginning yoga students and those looking for a slower, awareness-based practice. The postures of this class focus specifically on calming and strengthening the nervous system. These are the practices taught in our teacher training for Yoga Education Collective.
Sunday 12:30 Sivananda Hatha Yoga
taught by Don Batella. In this class, you will practice the 12 basic asanas of Sivananda Yoga and some simple pranayamas, and be guided in deep relaxation practices.
All weekend classes are included in the monthly Mysore package (you won't be charged when you register),
and as usual, the classes are available in person and by donation online.
Mysore students: did you receive an email from the new Mysore mailing list? If not, please check your junk mail filter, or write to me if you are a monthly student and didn't receive it. I've started lists for people who attend the different classes to not clog everyone's mailboxes with info they don't want.
In May, I'll be teaching in Europe, and my schedule is here. My friend Eva Ugolini will be coming from Roma to run the Mysore program while I am away. She's an awesome teacher, and Ayurvedic practitioner, and I am certain you will all enjoy having her at the temple. I am looking for a room or apartment to rent for her for the last two
weeks of May, so if anyone knows of anything, please let me know.
That's all for now!
Best,
Eddie
PS The Tuesday morning Om chanting and Ishvara Pranidhana practice has been very peaceful and insightful. Here is a recording of last week's practice, in case you are interested in seeing what the class is but haven't had the chance or availability to attend.
