Alan Watts, Eastern Wisdom and Modern Life,1959 

In 1959, Alan Watts recorded an amazing 18-part TV series covering a huge overview of Eastern traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and more. Watts was one of the early pioneers exposing the West to Eastern thought.His clarity, learnedness, and insights remain relevant today, as much as they did 70 years ago. Watts moved to the States from England in 1938, underwent training in Zen Buddhism in NYC, and became an priest. Later he left the seminary, moved to California, and joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies. He was an immensely influential proponent of Eastern traditions, long before the New Age movement arrived. He's not everyone's cup of tea, but I do quite enjoy listening to his talks.
