Hello Folks,
Here's what's up this week at AYNY and the Broome Street Temple.
We have been experimenting with ways to introduce people to different aspects of Ashtanga Yoga - here are two of our newest offerings:
Ashtanga Yoga Level 1 with Jocelyne, Saturday, 11am. This class is great for those new to Ashtanga Yoga, beginners, and those who are re-starting their practice after a hiatus. The class is one hour long, and includes a short meditation at the end. You can sign up
below! (This class is in-person only.)
Ashtanga Yoga Level 2 is a new class on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. It is easy going, one hour long practice, with sun salutations A, a few standing postures, a few seated postures, a few back bending and strengthening postures, and pranayama. It's a deeply calming
practice, suitable for beginning to seasoned practitioners. Check it out! (This class can be done online or in-person.)
EVENTS AT THE BROOME STREET TEMPLE
The Broome Street Temple is excited to announce our next evening community event, on Thursday, May 19th. We will begin at 6pm with a Hatha Yoga class taught by guest teacher
Monisha Raja, followed by a vegan dinner catered by Divya's Kitchen. Limited to 15 people. Sign up below!
Vedic Astrology Bootcamp with Julia Tarpia, begins Tuesday, May 17th. This is going to be a very cool four-week course, meeting weekly on Tuesdays. Julia will be teaching us how to read our own chart for learning how to get help navigating our lives with the help of
the stars and planets. I'm psyched for this one - Julia taught me some amazing things in about fifteen minutes the day we met to discuss her course. Sign up below!
New Beginnings Puja, meditation, and chanting on the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm, starting June 5th. This is a new initiative at the temple to help you intention set, clear the slate, and start each month anew with a clear vision of what you need to do, want
to accomplish, and what you want to change for the month ahead. It's a 45-minute long, interactive, participatory ritual. It's also an easy way to support the ongoing activities of the temple for those who are looking for ways to do so - bring a friend!
Information on volunteer opportunities, flower garland offerings, weekly pujas, and more can be found through the link below!
That's all for now - thanks for reading!
Yours,
Eddie and Jocelyne
